Mr. Chacin provides intellectual property litigation services. He has substantial prior experience representing clients in a wide array of commercial litigation cases, with an emphasis on securities law and insurance defense. He has also worked with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) in securities matters, and commercial litigation cases in State and Federal Court.
While at law school, Mr. Chacin was the recipient of the MSU College of Law Merit Scholarship, which is given to students based on academic achievement. During law school, he was a member of the MSU Journal of International Law and a participant in the Willem C. Vis Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition held in Vienna, Austria. He also obtained the Jurisprudence Award in International Trade Law, was a member of the Dean’s List, and was a Hispanic Scholarship Fund/Hispanic National Bar Association of Michigan Scholar. Mr. Chacin was a summer extern at the Department of Justice’s Executive Office for Immigration Review in Detroit, Michigan, where he performed research and writing for the immigration judges. He also attended the William & Mary Law School Summer Study Abroad Program in Madrid, Spain, where he studied European Union Law and Spanish Constitutional Law.
