A story ran in the industry trade publication Tech Times quoting Patent Attorney William R. Trueba, Jr., a founding member of the law firm of Espinosa Martinez PL about the implications of the Federal Communications Commission’s upcoming Feb. 26 decision on re-classifying the Internet. Trueba said without net neutrality, consumers fear that large Internet Service Providers (ISPs) will control access to the Internet by giving preferential treatment to those who willing to pay. This would create a system where those who can afford to pay for greater bandwith could do so and those unwilling or unable to pay would be relegated to slower, bottlenecked access to the Internet.
