Richard Bec focuses his practice on commercial litigation, real estate law, and bankruptcy matters. He also has significant experience in the areas of admiralty, general liability, landlord-tenant, and condominium law. Mr. Bec has successfully represented lenders, other business entities, and individuals in state and federal courts.
Mr. Bec’s academic success during his time at Florida International University garnered him an election to the Florida International University’s Honor Council and also to Pi Sigma Alpha, the only honor society for college students of political science and government in the United States.
While attending law school, Mr. Bec was a semi-finalist in the 1L Moot Court Competition and his fellow students nominated for the law school’s Kurt Marmar Award for professionalism. He also was a member of Phi Alpha Delta and participated in the law school’s pro bono HOPE program.
During law school, Mr. Bec interned for The Honorable Joel H. Brown of the Eleventh Judicial circuit of Florida where he conducted extensive legal research and compiled a “Benchbook” consisting of all relevant statutes and landmark family law decisions for official use by family law judges. Mr. Bec received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Eleventh Judicial Circuit for his legal research.
Mr. Bec was born in Miami, Florida and is fluent in English and Spanish.
